Common questions
Getting started
How do I make an invoice by talking?
Open the app and tap Start a call, then describe the job the way you would to a colleague — who it was for, what you did, and what it costs. For example: “Invoice John Smith, two hours of plumbing at sixty dollars an hour.”
The invoice builds itself on screen while you talk. Correct anything by saying so — “make that three hours” — and the draft updates. When you are done, hang up: the finished invoice is waiting in your Invoices tab.
Do I need the app?
Yes. Calls happen inside the Voice to Invoice app, which signs you in, so there is nothing to register and no PIN to remember. The dial-in hotline that used to work from any handset has been retired.
Calls and invoices
The call will not connect
Calls need a working data connection and microphone access. Check that Voice to Invoice has microphone permission in your phone settings, then try again from a stronger signal.
If it still fails, email us so we can look at the logs. You can also build the invoice by hand on the web in the meantime — nothing is lost.
Something on the invoice is wrong
Every invoice email includes an edit link that works for 30 days without logging in, so you can fix a typo from anywhere. You can also edit an invoice directly in the app or on the web, right up until you send it.
Is my microphone always listening?
No. The microphone is live only during a call you started, and it switches off the moment the call ends. We do not keep a recording of your voice — the audio is transcribed as you speak and is never written to disk. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
Billing and subscriptions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Where you cancel depends on where you subscribed:
- In the iPhone app: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel Voice to Invoice there. You can also reach that screen from Settings → Billing → Manage subscription in our app.
- In the Android app: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- If you subscribed on the web: web billing has been retired. Those subscriptions have all ended already, so there is nothing to cancel. If you believe you are still being charged, email us and we will sort it out.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
I paid, but the app still shows a paywall
Open Settings → Billing and tap Restore purchases. That re-checks your purchase with the App Store or Google Play and unlocks the account straight away. Make sure you are signed in to the same store account you bought with. If it still will not unlock, email us and we will sort it out manually.
What do the plans include?
Both plans are monthly and renew automatically until you cancel. Freelancer covers up to 30 invoices a month. High Volume covers up to 200 and includes everything in Freelancer. The current price is always shown in the app before you subscribe.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — we have a deliberately generous refund policy. Email us and we will take care of it.
One thing to know: purchases made inside the iPhone or Android app are processed by Apple and Google, so those refunds are requested through them. We will point you to the right place if you are not sure which applies.
Your account and your data
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. On the web the same option is in your account settings. You confirm twice, and then your login, business profile and voice agent access are removed everywhere.
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel that first, using the steps above, or you will keep being charged.
What happens to my invoices if I leave?
Issued invoices are retained for legal and record-keeping reasons, because they are financial records. Everything else tied to your account goes. If you want a copy of your invoices before you leave, export or email them to yourself first.
How do I ask what data you hold on me?
Email privacy@voicetoinvoice.app and we will handle it. You have the right to a copy of your data, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. The privacy policy explains how each of those works and how long we take.
